Why does my Sims 2 Bon Voyage freeze everytime I go on vacation?

Hey! I have had my Sims 2 Bon Voyage installed for about a month now, my sim lives on a beach lot and everything runs fine there, but when I go on vacation about 3 min into the game play it always freezes up, and then the game crashes, if someone could tell me how to fix this it WITHOUT reinstalling it , I would really appreciate it!
