11What kind of boat licence is required to sail in Italy if you own your own boat in Itally?

I am currently in Australia, but want to get a boat licence I can then use to sail my 40′ cruise boat I bought a couple of weeks ago in Italy. What licence will I need to get? And can I do this over the internet?

Unless you are going to use the boat on a commercial basis you don’t need a licence. Like any other country in the world all you have to do is clear customs and immigration on arrival and abide by local laws and regulations. Commercially you would need a trade licence and or work permit which in some places are almost impossible. Suggest you write or call an Italin Embassy for more concrete information.
