Is it possible to sail from England to Australia?

I really want to go to australia next year for the next Ashes tour, but I have such bad fear of flying that I refuse to fly (I’ve had three course’s of therapy, all unsuccessful). So, is it possible, and how long would it take, to sail to Australia? Money is no object, and I regularly sail to America so I enjoy it.

Well Captain Cook sailed here, but that took months.. You should’ve left already.

I know how you feel. I am the same. Found this:

Yes it’s possible, but you still require a visa and passport. And we are going to win the Ashes! hahahaha! But get on ya boat quick as it’s going to take quite a while to get here.

I bet if you contact the Barmy Army they could tell you about other members with the same problem. Maybe they’ve even organised a tour and it would be good to have some company. You’ll be very miserable after the poms lose and misery loves company.

Apart from cruise liners, you can travel via freighter though it’s awfully expensive - you get to see a lot of the world though:
