My son has been pulling himself up on furniture for about a week now. Today he has officially began cruising; walking along the furniture. How long was it for your little one before they began walking, after they began cruising?
I know every baby is different, but I was curious to hear from other parents.
Thank you!
Oh, I almost forgot! He’s 9 months old, and will be 10 months on Monday.

My son was cruising the furniture at 7 and a half months old but didn’t take his first steps until he was 9 months and 3 days.
Once they have mastered walking along furniture, they will graduate to walking holding your hand, then your little finger, then standing unsupported, and then walking!!!
i would say in 1-3 months. at 1 year most start walking
My son started cruising the same week he started crawling at 6 months and didn’t take his first unsupported steps until 10 months.
Isn’t it fun?? My daughter’s 14 months now, and I miss that time. Now she’s running all around like a wild child
She started cruising about the same time as your son, and within a couple of weeks was letting go and taking a step or two before sitting down with a “thump.” I would just cheer her on when she fell so that she wouldn’t be scared, and I’d say within a month she was taking 5 or 6 steps on her own. Probably a couple of weeks after that she was walking! (however drunkenly).
I hope this helps!
This sounds like a question i just asked! My little one is doing the same. Im just sooooo so anxious.
My kiddo was cruising at 8 months and walking at 9 months. Sounds like yours may be an early walker, too.
My son was about 9.5 or 10 months when he started cruising…he started taking some steps around a year but didn’t really start walking on his own until more like 13 months…he is now 14.5 months and quick walks everywhere…almost like he is running, it’s pretty quick! That’s pretty much all he does all day. I have a hard time trying to get him to sit still for anything. The doctors practically have to restrain him at the doctor’s office because he won’t just lay there…he is constantly on the go!
